Notice on Application for HS/HDC QR Code for China-bound Passengers (Updated on November 14, 2022)
2022-11-15 08:18

Starting from November 14, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas will process applications for health code/HDC QR Code for China-bound passengers in accordance with the following update of requirements as listed in this notice.

I. All passengers will only be required to take one PCR test within 48 hours before boarding the direct flight to China. Documents required for health code/HDC QR Code application include test report, passport bio-data page and full itinerary, plus valid visa or resident permit for Non-Chinese passenger.

II. The test can be taken either in The Bahamas or in the transit country. Since there is no direct flight from The Bahamas to China and the health code is only valid within 48 hours from the sampling time, for those who choose to take the test in The Bahamas, please pay attention to the time difference between The Bahamas and the last transit country, and make sure the code is valid before the departure time of the last flight to China. For example, if a passenger takes the PCR test in The Bahamas at 8:00am on November 14 (sampling time), his/her last flight to China should be no later than 8:00am on November 16 in The Bahamas time. Otherwise, passengers are required to take the PCR test in the transit country and apply for a health code from the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate General.

III. The test report should be issued by recognized laboratories in The Bahamas, and the list can be found in the following link (https://travel.gov.bs/file/testCenters ). The test report should contain specific information such as name, passport number, date of birth, date of collection, date of report and the contact information of the testing institution.

IV. Chinese citizens shall apply health code by searching for the mini program “Health Kit”. Non-Chinese passengers shall apply for the HDC QR Code at https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ .

V. The Embassy reminds all passengers to take measures for personal protection before and during the flight to China. It is also strongly recommended to inquire relevant requirements of airlines and transit countries to avoid interruption of itinerary.
