Notice on Adjusting Visa Application Requirements

Starting from 24th June, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas will adjust visa application requirements for business, work and family visits to China as follows:

I. Application Procedure

a) Fill in the visa application form online ( https://cova.mfa.gov.cn ) , print out the application forms and sign the confirmation page.

b) Send an email to consulate_bhs@mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment in the following format:

i. Subject line: “Full Name+Passport Number+Visa Category (e.g. Z Visa)”

ii. Email body: Please elaborate the purpose and estimated date of your visit to China and attach the documents required for visa application in PDF or JPG format (Please see Article II for details).

c) Once visa application passes the preview, applicant will be notified by email of the specific time and date for submitting all the required documents in person to the Embassy. Incomplete submission of documentation of application, which is within the current eligible categories, will be notified to provide supplementary documentation.

II. Visa categories accepted and documents required

a)Visa Application Form and the confirmation page.

b)Original passport and a copy of bio data page.

c)One recent color photo (within 6 months), front view, white background, in 48mm x 33mm size.

d)Vaccination certificates.

e)Original Chinese passport or original Chinese visa (for those who once held Chinese nationality and later joined a foreign nationality).

f)A certificate of lawful stay and residence permit in The Bahamas for foreigners from third countries.

g)Other documents required by the Embassy.

Application of a visa for emergency humanitarian matters (e.g. visiting a direct family member in critical condition or attending a funeral of a direct family member), the ID of the patient or the deceased, a death certificate or a certificate of diagnosis/critical illness notice issued by a hospital, proof of kinship, etc. shall be submitted.

At present, visa application for tourism or medical purpose will remain suspended.
