On 11th August 2017, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas held a reception celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the People's Republic of China and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Chinese Ambassador Huang Qinguo and the Honourable Darren Allen Henfield, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas gave remarks respectively during the reception. Both of them shared a positive assessment of the development of bilateral relations in the past 20 years, and hoped to make joint efforts to further deepen the comprehensive relationship between our countries.

Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Honourable Kevin Peter Turnquest, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Senator the Honourable Carl Wilshire Bethel, Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Hounourable Dr. Duane Sands, Minister of Health, the Hounourable Marvin Hanlon Dames, Minister of National Security, the Honourable Frankie Alfred Campbell, Minister of Transport and Local Government, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Philip "Brave" Davis, Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, Sir Aurthor Foulks, former Governor-General of The Bahamas, together with diplomats, local Chinese-Bahamians, employees of Chinese enterprises, and other Bahamian friends over 200 people attended the reception.
