Ambassador Huang Qinguo Handed Over COVID-19 Medical Supplies to The Bahamas

On July 31st, Ambassador Huang Qinguo met with the Hon. Renward Wells, Minister of Health of The Bahamas, and jointly attended the handover ceremony of medical supplies provided by Chinese government to assist The Bahamas to fight against Covid-19.

Ambassador Huang said that Covid-19 is a common challenge to all mankind and solidarity and cooperation are the most powerful weapon to defeat the pandemic. China will continue to work together with the Bahamas, share the prevention and treatment experience, and provide further assistance within its capacity. The Bahamas government is taking proactive measures to contain the spread of the virus. We are confident that The Bahamas government and people will surely win the battle.

Minister Wells expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government for the precious assistance and strong support. He said that China has made remarkable achievements in the fight against Covid-19 and has played a constructive role in promoting international cooperation. Currently, The Bahamas is facing the second wave of the virus and the donation of medical supplies would be of great help to The Bahamas. The Bahamas side looks forward to further cooperating with Chinese side.

This is the fifth round of assistance provided by China to support The Bahamas in its fighting against Covid-19.
