$500,000 CASH AID HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO NEMA BY CHINESE GOVERNMENT

On October 9th, Ambassador Huang Qinguo, on behalf of the Chinese Government, handed over emergency humanitarian cash aid of $500,000 to Captain Stephen Russel, Director of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), towards its Hurricane Dorian recovery and rebuilding efforts. Mrs. Sharon Brennen- Haylock, Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the handover ceremony.

Ambassador Huang said the Chinese government and people care about those impacted by Hurricane Dorian, and China will stand with the Bahamian people in support of the recovery efforts, in hope that the affected Bahamian people will rebuild their homes as soon as possible.

This is the third time that China has provided disaster relief assistance to The Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Previously, the Chinese Embassy provided $20,000 immediate supplies to NEMA on September 5th. The Red Cross Society of China donated $100,000 cash aid on September 10th.
